Copyright and Copyright-Complaint Policy
Version 1.1 · Effective 11 October 2026 · Last updated 11 October 2026
1. Respecting copyright
Only upload or publish material you own or have permission to use. Nonofo hosts content uploaded by users and tutors and removes infringing content promptly when we receive a valid notice, as set out in the Copyright Act 2022.
2. How to report an infringement
Email support@nonofo.com with "Copyright notice" in the subject. Your notice must include:
- your signature (physical or electronic), as the owner or a person authorised to act for the owner;
- the work you believe is infringed;
- the infringing material and where it appears on Nonofo Academy, in enough detail for us to find it;
- your contact details (email address, phone number or address);
- a declaration on oath that you believe the use is not authorised by the owner, their agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
3. What happens next
When we receive a valid notice, we promptly remove or disable access to the material, tell the person who posted it what the notice says, and then inform the copyright owner.
4. Counter-notice
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send us a signed counter-notice with your full contact details and the reasons. We forward it to the copyright owner straight away. If the owner does not respond within 7 days to show that you are not authorised, we may restore the material. If a challenge cannot be resolved within 10 days of the counter-notice, the matter may be referred to the Nigerian Copyright Commission.
5. Repeated infringement
If we receive repeated notices about the same account, we first send a warning, which you must acknowledge. After a second valid notice about the same account, where no challenge is pending, the account is suspended for at least one month. Removed content must not be uploaded again; if it is, we remove it without further notice.
6. False notices
Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may lead to account action.
